RAK university offers nursing degree
Ras Al Khaimah: The
RAK Medical and Health Sciences University on Saturday announced
admissions to the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc
Nursing) and a similar but abridged programme of two years for
Registered Nurses (RN).
The nurse to
population ratio in Dubai is 3.5:1000, which is low compared to
international standards. In comparison the US has 7.9:1000 and UK has
9.2:1000. In UAE, there are only two universities, Sharjah university
and RAK MHSU which offer Basic Bsc Nursing and RN BSN Bridge programmes
which are insufficient to meet the existing demand of nurses.
Dr. Vijaya, Dean of RAK College of Nursing, said: "Nursing education requires a commitment to community service."
The college is
equipped with state-of-the art equipment to give students' experience
from practising basic assessment skills to managing patients with
complex critical care needs. For more information contact 07-2269999.
