Ras Al Khaimah: The RAK Medical and Health Sciences University on Saturday announced admissions to the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) and a similar but abridged programme of two years for Registered Nurses (RN).

The nurse to population ratio in Dubai is 3.5:1000, which is low compared to international standards. In comparison the US has 7.9:1000 and UK has 9.2:1000. In UAE, there are only two universities, Sharjah university and RAK MHSU which offer Basic Bsc Nursing and RN BSN Bridge programmes which are insufficient to meet the existing demand of nurses.
