Dubai Airport departure fees now Dh75
An amendment to Law No3 of 2004 governing departure fees from Dubai
International Airport was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his
capacity as the Ruler of Dubai.
Under the amendment, departure
fees from the airport will rise to Dh75 for all passengers, excluding
children under the age of two and airline crew.
The amendment is effective as of May 1, 2009.
Sheikh Mohammed also issued an amendment to Law No2 of 1993 regulating rental disputes within free zones in Dubai.
As
per the amendment, a rental committee shall preside over all disputes
arising between lessors and lessees in free zones. However, should
cases arise that cannot be resolved by the rental committee, these
shall be referred under article No7 of the law to a special judicial
committee or a court with special jurisdiction.
The amendment is effective as of June 14, 2009.
