The UAE has no plans to mirror a recent move by Bahrain to scrap the sponsorship system for expatriate workers, reported The National. Instead, the government is focusing on adjusting existing labour laws to accommodate employees who had been made redundant but wanted to stay in the country and look for work. The country's Cabinet is currently reviewing a proposas to extend visas for those made redundant for more than the current one month.
