Telecom service provider du has introduced off-peak rates of Dh1 per minute for calls to India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

The deal is available to all pre-paid subscribers to its mobile service after noon and evening during the week and all day on Friday. People making calls to Pakistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Syria and the United Kingdom will be charged Dh1.25 per minutes for the same off-peak periods. Du customers who recharge with WoW 'More International' will receive an additional discount of up to 60 per cent, the company said.

"Customers opting for this promotion do not have any increases in their other call rates," said a spokesman for the second telecom firm in the UAE.
