The UAE exhibits the rich tapestry woven from its diverse social fabric to the world. Its multi-cultural society is founded on acceptance and mutual respect of various beliefs, cultures and norms. In return its society expects an equitable amount of healthy awareness, or socially acceptable behaviour, from people especially in public. This highlights the status of the country and its people.

We have been gifted with a tolerant, secure and vibrant society by a country that in return expects its social standards to be accepted and respected. To maintain a proper dress code and to desist from open displays of affection in public is to illustrate one form of socially acceptable behaviour.

Let us exhibit more awareness so as not to offend or embarrass others by our own actions. Shopping malls and other public outlets have polite pointers on acceptable forms of dress codes and to follow them is a courtesy and a necessity.
